ABOUT RICK

The firm's principal, Rick Bynum, RA/NCARB, enjoyed a professional association with several of the region's most prestigious architectural firms, prior to founding Bynum Architecture in 1996. This work included large-scale, commercial projects with Thompson, Ventulett & Stainback in Atlanta, LS3P in Charleston, South Carolina, as well as high-end residential work with Lamar T. Webb on St. Simons Island, Georgia. Professional Licenses are currently active in South Carolina, North Carolina, Tennessee and Georgia.​ Rick has published 4 books on Architecture/Construction and contributed over 30 articles to various publications.

Rick grew up in Winston-Salem, NC and received architectural degrees from North Carolina State University and Clemson University. Rick studied in Genova Italy and traveled extensively throughout Europe and the UK. A number of architectural publications have featured Rick's work and articles on design and construction. Rick volunteers with many non-profit organizations in Greenville, South Carolina, including his church, Jack and the Bean, the Boy Scouts and has served for over 15 years on the Housing Corporation for his fraternity at NC State.
